why not just get a bigger mirror to take more accurate and detailed photos?

It’s a telescope, not a laser gun. Why is that “scary”

Why can’t they build a telescope to see such details on planets and moons in our solar system?

why don't we just make a bigger hubble telescope with better technology and be able to work out more about the universe

Hey Kobi! I’m a 14-year-old from the Philippines. I’ve developed a 1.0 Equilibrium Equation that treats black holes as Lossless Processors using Landauer’s Principle to preserve information
I call it the Bahinting Releasation Theory. Engineers say the logic holds up, but I need a theoretical perspective on the 'Unzipper' mechanism. I'd love to share more if you're interested

If Hubble’s angular resolution is 0.05 arcseconds, why can’t it resolve objects smaller than 100m on Earth’s surface from 400km away — is it the optics, the focal design, or the atmosphere it’s looking through rather than above?

Given that Hubble operates above the atmospheric seeing limit and achieves diffraction-limited performance at ~0.05 arcsec, its theoretical ground resolution at 400km orbital altitude should be ~10cm. Is the real limiting factor the detector’s charge diffusion across the CCD pixels, the off-axis coma aberration when pointing nadir, or the fact that Earth’s albedo would saturate the WFPC3 sensor before a single exposure could even complete?
