@sternalife: Ahead of Earth Day, we listen to the ancestral song of the Waorani people, sung by Nemonte Nenquimo. Working to protect the Amazon rainforest, she spoke alongside activists from other Indigenous communities in Brazil and Argentina at the recent @changenow_world conference. Together, they highlighted the harsh truths: • Money is still being invested in companies that threaten the survival of many communities and the planet. • Communities that have the answers of how to live in harmony with nature continue to be ignored and marginalised. • Green promises and pledges are made to look good, but the system never changes. • The current capitalist system we live in, based on extraction, will collapse. • There is hope, however, if we open our hearts, our spaces, our consciousness, and lead with love.
