Speaking in hyperbole and absolutes is a surefire way to damage your relationship. I often tell my girlfriend this, as she has a propensity to do this, and I'm at the point that I don't entertain conversations that start with "you always _", "you never _" anymore. the bad communication still surfaces now & again despite the broken record I've become. I'm not her therapist.
