I was prompted to tip at the coffee stand at the airport in Gothenburg and I thought that was hilarious. You can’t trick me. I am free from that obligation here. 🥰🥰🥰

Can you answer me honestly? I have been told the cost of living is different and the taxes are higher and cover more? Is this true.

And you missed the biggest part…the owners pay their staff a few dollars the rest of their salary is paid in tips. A lot of other countries pay their staff well and tips are not always welcome and seen as rude.

Common sense? No. Common courtesy in establishments where service is excellent? Absolutely! But don't turn that screen at me and expect 20% more on overpriced airport food that I brought to the register myself. It's time for employers to pay fair wages.

It’s not common sense. It’s an antiquated practice that benefits owners by allowing them to not have to pay their employees well.

Common sense? In Sweden, employees are paid by their employer. There is no need for tips.
