I wouldn't trust a nurse who doesn't have the attention span of 45 seconds to finish a video and who is also missing the listening comprehehison gene.

I’m a nurse and I can tell you she doesn’t listen. 🤣 you can give her a whole protocol and she’ll still mess up.

“We truly believe Dr. Killeen is the best doctor we could have found. We have absolutely no regrets choosing her because she did an amazing job. Not only is she incredibly skilled, but she is also such a kind and caring person.”

My problem with this whole thing is I saw somewhere this Dr had made mistakes bf and had a history of issues. I would have been watching him every second I could if I was scheduled to work with him. Everyone in that room is going to be in trouble.

I feel like you didnt listen back to your own video. We both know anesthesiologist are board certified MDs, they may not know how to stop catastrophic bleeding but they do know the parts of the body are. they can put hands and eyes on the Pt while their assistant takes over. is it ideal no, but I would take it over death. you make it sound like nobody in the entire room could have helped at all.

You know what, you are 100% correct and I take it back. I still don’t believe that it’s justifiable, the mistake the doctor made; but my apologies!!!

people love to say "this is why we are where we are today", but the responses to you really are an example of why we are where we are today. people w/o enough knowledge, certain they're correct, certain they know more than experts, and determined to fight no matter what

Trying to find out what happened is part of medicine and trying to prevent this from happening. It doesn’t excuse anything or minimize anything, it helps us and future patients. The time out is one of those things that may seem silly (how could anyone cut off the wrong leg?) but these are people’s lives. It behooves us to make sure it can’t happen again. It is really hard to see and understand what a surgeon is doing as an observer particularly when it comes to bloody fields, or vasculature. It’s feasible to think that the staff didn’t realize something was wrong or made mental justifications. All that needs to be explored. It’s easy to be a Monday morning quarterback. Finding a root cause is not an excuse nor does it minimize the fact that a young man lost his life.
