This year’s Beijing E-Town Humanoid Robot Half-Marathon put on a spectacle. Nonetheless, the competition was not without its hiccups. Some robots fell just feet from the starting line, others crashed into barriers, and teams battled issues with overheating motors and battery limits throughout the race. #humanoid #ai #robots #china

Compared with 2025, the 2026 Yizhuang Robot Marathon had 102 teams, up from 20. Forty-seven teams finished the race, compared with 6 before, and the finish rate went from 30% to 46%. The top time fell from nearly 160 minutes to just over 50 minutes. More robots can move on their own. This race may happen every year, and we will see how it goes next year.
