If u care, keep reading: Although his storyline was not handled with care past season 2 (for the most part), the rhetoric used in the show is uncannily resemblant of phrases spoken and sentiments shared by CSA survivors (Will) and abusers (Vecna). Given that supernatural horror and sci-fi genres are frequently interrelated by their use of allegory or symbolism for real-world abuse and violation (inherently associated with assault and loss of bodily autonomy), whether it was intentional or not in the ST series, it’s really not a stretch to interpret Will as a CSA survivor despite it not being explicitly stated. Like, this goes all the way back to Gothic literature of the 18th-19th centuries (e.g., classics like Frankenstein and Dracula). Then we see it in films like Alien and The Exorcist.
