Honestly as a standard a zero trust / zero knowledge transfer system is the right way to go about age verification. Single trusted provider that as verified once (ideally doenst store data long term) and merely passes that signal on. similar to phone biometrics. this is 1M times better than uploading ID or face scan to random 3rd party providers.

So the app explicitly was released for the purpose of getting everyone to help find the bugs, and they did. 🌹
