I live 5 minutes away from Aberfan, thank you so much for covering this story. My great uncle was one of the children casualties. This makes me well up every time but thank you for making your audience aware of one of Wales' worst disasters. xx

in some schools in wales they teach us about this and when i was in school we had an assembly every year on the day this happened where they would say how long ago it happened and tell us things about it

My uncle volunteered to help dig out the bodies. He carried the trauma of what he saw all of his life.

My grandad was there he was asked to bring to bring all the big diggers there then he was told not to use them incase there was any survivors 😔

If you're interested there's a book called A Terrible Kindness by Jo Browning Wroe thats a novel about an embalmer who went to Aberfan. Books don't really upset me, but that was a heartbreaking read.
