I had more offer as a new grad than an experience nurse.

Yeah I’ve also noticed that just because jobs are posted doesn’t mean they are actually hiring :/

As long as the positions are posted their staff believe that they are trying to hire people.

If you're in cali, i recommend getting a travel assignment first, build a rapport with the staff and if u like the hospital then apply for permanent position.

I’m in the same situation. I have 8 years of experience. Recently got laid off. I’ve put in over 30 applications. I’ve had one interview for a cards/pcu position and got denied. I have two more interviews lined up but I’m literally so shocked that I got denied in my area of experience.

Nurse for 16 years… last year was looking to change. Applying for nonbedside jobs and got 3 interviews out of 30 apps. 1 I went through 3 rounds and got my denial.

I’ve learned that this is probably a financial money saving strategy for Admin/HR. When staff complain about being short staffed, management will respond with “oh we have positions posted we just can’t find the right candidates/ no one is applying”. And this is how they get away with saying that they’re doing something about it… but actually aren’t. And this saves them money by overworking current staff and not having to spend money on new additional nurse salaries. It’s all a money saving initiative for corporate. I hate it here.

I’m in the same boat, but 4yrs of experience. I applied to like 50 job postings. No offers either, it’s so discouraging. 😓

The companies list jobs but dont hire so they can keep the nurses working short staffed.
