@dr.norellahcancook: ❤️🔥‼️Welcome to Episode 3 of The Seemingly Harmless Series. Today, let’s talk about something very common in our kitchens: Potash — also known as Kaun. We use it to soften food faster… especially beans and some vegetables. And yes, it works 😅 But let’s think a little deeper. Potash is highly alkaline. ❌❌When used frequently or in large amounts, it can: • Reduce some nutrients in food • Affect how your body absorbs vitamins • Contribute to electrolyte imbalance 😩Now what does that look like in the body? ⚠️ Possible symptoms include: • Weakness or fatigue • Muscle cramps • Palpitations • Nausea or vomiting • Dizziness And like many things we’ve discussed… You won’t always connect it to your diet. But it builds up over time. ⚠️ The issue is not just use… It’s overuse. ✅ What to do instead: • Use very small amounts • Don’t use it every time you cook • Soak beans and allow proper cooking time ‼️‼️ Don’t ever forget this ❤️ #fypシ゚ #cookingtips #kitchensafety #foodsafety #potash
Doc, if kawu is potash (potassium carbonate), what then is Salt Peter (potassium nitrate).

Sister Aisha GH🇬🇭 :
Even that's not how to use it, a proper way of using it is to soak it in water, shake it small and immediately take out any diets from the top. Then keep it for a day two for it to completely dissolve, the sand in it will settle down and you will get your plain kanwa water at the top which can stay for a year, so you only pure a small amount for your cooking and when the water gets finish add another water
