the issue with stuff like this is that stealth usually gets punished too hard in D&D like you to everything perfect, but a single nat 1 on a stealth check undoes everything that has happened (which is why I usually work with a stealth pool where they are allowed to fail stealth check a pre-determined amount of times in a stealth mission)
