@echo.bravo.ranch: @The Spirit of Gen X is at it again. His video is an embarrassing display of dunning-kruger, ineptitude, hypocrisy, and misrepresentation of authority. #fyp #tiktokshop #firearms #embarrassing #stayinyourlane

Exactly. Guns are not toys whatsoever.

This just makes kids think firearm=toy. Training and toy shouldn’t be in the same sentence.

My father taught me fire arm safety with a real gun. When he finally allowed me to hold it, I felt the physical weight, but the weight that it was not a toy, ever.

My parents made me treat a toy just like a real one when growing up. this meant no running, no pointing,... and it was locked up in the safe when not in use. I was allowed to have it mostly only when the adults were practicing or hunting.

what kinds of classes would be good to take as someone interested in getting into recreational shooting?

I grew up with guns and I’m very much gun safety and I’ve taught my son how to use a gun and how to use it properly.. that being said, this toy in the way that he was showing it off, made me uncomfortable. And I almost said something, but I decided to scroll.

my parents got me and my 2 siblings guns at 6. we NEVER were allowed to use or handle them without them around and they taught us safety with a real gun to insure we knew it wasn't a toy.

my dad taught me with his 1911 when I was little. it scared the crap out of me and really drilled in the safety aspect of firearms.

I'm definitely not an instructor or an authoritative figure, but I very consistently have to carry weapons (also military) and have had to give basic firearms safety to friends and family in the past. the first thing I always tell them is "I have to use a gun all the time, I love to shoot them, I know how to handle one safely, and I'm a good shot. it still scares me *every time* I have one. because that's how dangerous they are." before I say anything else at all. I'd rather someone be too afraid to handle a gun until they get proper training because they actually respect their lethality, than to have them blow themselves or someone else away because they decided to FAFO. and that's how I have a daughter with more common sense regarding guns than her own grandfather (on her mom's side).

I never had a toy gun growing up. and, no, it wasn't because we were anti-gun. it's because guns ARE NOT toys. . I was 6 when I got my first gun, a nice little Marlin .22. We hunted to put food on the table. Guns are not toys. they are tools.

Actually using that as a training tool for kids is better than the NRA approve Rubber gun

“I use this to teach my kids gun safety”, immediately violates one of the first rules of gun use. Acting like it’s ok to just point at people.

the way he acts in that video, you could tell me he unironically takes the meme of "the first rule of gun safety is to have fun" as an immutable fact, and I'd probably believe you

Gun slop content is huge I’d say it’s a big problem with YouTube and I’m sick of seeing it. Puts a bad name to the millions of responsible gun owners who take firearms seriously.

Like as a two year-old you learned to hold it, hand and eye coordination? What’s wrong with a Lego gun? He’s not gonna teach my kid. What do I care?

rule in our house was you never point a gun at anything alive ever, starting with toy guns, because you want to be in the habit. I stopped watching when he shot the screen.
