Beast academy is ridiculously advanced my son who is about to start 3rd grade math with confidence, can’t complete the practice test for beast academy 2C and on national tests he tests at mid 4th grade level. Math with confidence is great!

MWC has been amazing in our home. It hurts my heart when people abandon it in K/1st because "it's too easy", because many people feel like math is SUPPOSED to be hard or a struggle. We use MWC with our math minded kid to keep her on level and let her challenge be Beast puzzle books.

I taught in public schools for 15 years (kindergarten, first, and second grades). Used MWC with my son for first grade. While it felt gentle like you said, I don’t fully agree it dove deep into standards compared to what I taught / was mandated to teach in my classroom 😬 it really was great to help him get confidence! We are halfway through Saxon grade 2.

If you haven’t been doing something like Singapore math from the start, is it discouraged to try switching over? We were leaning towards MWC but some don’t love the spiral type learning

My son hates it. He does not want me to do the lessons with him, and he hates the games. We're moving to Math Mammoth for 3rd. I don't feel like MWC dives deep at all.

We’ve tried 3 different math curriculums and my daughter struggles with all of them. We tried horizons, CLE math and now dimensions! Dimensions seems to be the worst one for her so far. She struggles so much and it takes us a long time to finish one lesson.

Thank you for saying this because it’s been driving me bonkers every time I hear it! We’ve used MWC since day one in 2020, and it’s the only curriculum we’ve never needed to change. It does exactly what it’s titled: gives confidence.

I’ve heard lots of good things about about MWC. We use Singapore dimensions but we started from kindergarten so I think that makes a huge difference.

We had to switch from Singapore to MWC and my daughter is less stressed and loves the games - I'm so happy we switched. My oldest was able to work with Singapore but my little one needed a different approach- I'm thankful!
