@vox: "I don't often recognize the Arizona that's spoken about nationally." Yana Kunichoff, a reporter for Arizona Luminaria, breaks down the gap between how the national media portrays her state and what it actually feels like to live and work there to Vox's Astead Herndon. born raised and still living in arizona. we grew up with McCain. the Red in arizona is often confused with MAGA alignment when it is largely a cohort of what would have formerly been conservatives and now might be considered moderate or center right.

theres a disconnect between very rich and the other 80% of people here. Hobbs has done a great job fighting for education and special needs while house Republicans keep reducing taxes for the rich...its having an effect

no way. I appreciate her view point but it’s simply not true. The wealthy do not care, they keep building unaffordable homes and apartments on any space of land available. Trust funds buying up any home that might be affordable to a working family. The American dream here has gone. No care about lack of water, those golf courses are green as ever. aps price hikes don’t effect those without money worries. Traffic cameras to ticket the poor. Drug addicts on every corner with no help from police for the people in the neighborhoods that are now targets for theft. Parks being taken over by them so kids no longer have a place to play safely. No one is coming together. We are being bulldozed by the wealthy. My same salary 6 years ago I would be able to buy a house, afford a vacation maybe once a year, maybe a new car. My rent has gone up $1,000 in six years.
