I am not suggesting that its the wifes "job" to oversee all house upkeep. What I am trying to debunk is the myth that it's realistic to expect your husband to see exactly what you see. In other words, each individual woman will have a different set of preferences and expectations around things that are done in the home. If you do not discuss those things openly, how can you expect him to know exactly when you think something should be done? And while we're thinking about that, why is your way the right way? You may think dishes absolutely need to be done before bed at night so the kitchen is clean in the morning. What if he would rather do them when he gets up in the morning? Does that make him wrong or inferior to you? No. It's simply a different preference. So if these things are important to you, have a discussion as teammates. each of you share your preference and then how important it is to you.
