S&P down just 0.2%, Nasdaq down 0.3%, snapping its 13-day winning streak. The Dow was essentially flat — down 4 points. Given the weekend chaos, that's actually a resilient close. Here's what happened: Iran fired on ships attempting to transit the Strait over the weekend and reimposed control of the chokepoint. On Sunday, the US Navy fired on and seized an Iranian cargo ship that defied the blockade. Oil jumped more than 5%, with WTI back above $88. But the market held up because VP Vance and the US delegation landed in Pakistan today for a fresh round of peace talks with Iran and investors are still betting on a deal.
