@criscinema: Replying to @julie This argument that The Pitt should spend all their time on Dr Robby at the expense of the supporting cast feels really disingenuous when there are plenty examples of TV shows like Mad Men, Lost and ER that have prominent lead characters while ALSO balancing a strong ensemble cast that each get their own compelling storylines. Plus The Pitt themselves balanced this better in season 1! It’s a fair critique to say that The Pitt did not manage this as well in season 2 because they spent a lot more time on Robby and many of the other character’s arcs served HIS arc instead of serving their own development. McKay, Santos, Mel, Mohan and Javadi all seemed to take a backseat in the last stretch of episodes. #thepitt #hbomax #noahwyle #tiktoktvfilmcontest #tvtok
i LOVED santos in s.1 and still loved her in s.2 but she did NOTHING but sit there, charting and snap at everybody… what happened to her beautiful complex character?!?

And the writers are telling us that Robbie is still not at rock bottom??? So season 3 is just going to be the same conversations over and over again??

Realism is an excuse. This is a TV show. The writers can do better.

Santos and Langdon' relationship/ conflict was one of the most interesting this season, and it ended so flat because they made about Robby? why?

javadi saying she wants to go into emergency psych makes sense but also feels like it came out of nowhere. like she interacted with psych the most this season, but it doesn't feel like anything specificly impactful. like they were there for the cases but she didn't have any specific aha moment with them imo

Also if it’s “the Dr Robby show” they clearly didn’t have enough material because it was boring! That’s part of the problem, too!!! I don’t feel Robby got developed enough, we just hit the same three sentences again and again

this season felt too robby centric, even things like langdon’s recovery were made about him and how he feels with it

Like santos couldn’t throw away the scalpel after inviting Mel out? That’s the kind of thing we’re asking for. Show that she’s choosing to reach out and try to pick other coping methods. Like yes that happened, but just that one scene would’ve wrapped it all together.

at the end of the day this is still a story being told! stories have structure, balance, themes, and character arcs. this season went in circles and the finale emotional highs were blunted because we'd seen similar things all season long.

Santo's story was so meh. and I feel like Dana's story line felt unfinished. Whitaker was stagnant this season. McKay has no arc whatsoever. Joy also had no real story arch.

I think a great example is also Joy! through the episodes we learned a little more about her character & even though she was gone way before the others she definitely had a better arc than most. It’s almost as if a character doesn’t have to be the main character to have some depth into them!

Also, the people that keep saying this isn’t Grey’s Anatomy to deflect from criticism all right in one regard at least in the early seasons, Grey’s Anatomy had great arts for their side characters

I LOVE the pitt s1 and on a first watch s2 was great but upon rewatching s1 I realised truly how much was lacking from s2
there was so much potential which felt so wasted, especially with mohans storyline considering supriya leaving the show :(

Totally agree. I’d also add that with such a large cast and so much time spent on the medicine, they need to be more mindful of making every scene with a character progress their arc in some way rather than repeating the same story beat over and over, especially if that repetition isn’t going to culminate in some kind of cathartic moment (see: Mel and the deposition or Becca, Santos being stressed out/behind on charting, Mohan’s mom calling or her looking defeated but not saying anything).

My problem with the Mohan storyline is that they kinda “reset” her arc for S2
