Is there hotshot companies that will let you drive for them? Currently a linemen apprentice I’ve driven pole trailers with 60 foot poles so I’m assuming it can’t be that much different

Now tell them what your profit was cause that looks good tell you see the expenses and you realize you really only made 1500

I just don’t understand why someone would buy a 1 ton pickup with a 10,000lbs rear axle rating for $150,000 that will barely even make it to 300,000miles instead of a new or lightly used big rig and trailer for $250,000 that will comfortably last for a million miles. I’ve talked to many hot shots at truck stops and scale houses and they all talk about how it’s cost effective but I just don’t see how it is. It’s also pretty uncomfortable sleeping in a crew cab.

1 ton and a trailer needs a CDL. 3/4 ton and trailer dont need one. Thats how I learned it at least as long as your GVWR doesnt exceed 26,001 your good

Be sure to tell everyone how much your expenses are before they think they can do this and go into debt. Broker fee, load insurance, liability insurance, truck and trailer insurance, DAILY maintenance, fuel and the money it takes to get started (IFTA, FMCSA, stateDot etc)
