It’s definetely an interesting take but there’s a balance. Yes you can tell a story but you need technical knowledge of what you’re building. Just because you dream of the future doesn’t mean people will build it for you, you must be a willing and equal collaborator whose willing to put in the work to manage the creation of complex moving parts.

For every one person from Hollywood who invested in “the future” and made a billion off that investment there are a thousand others who lost every dollar they invested in “the future”. Kevin Hart started a vegan restaurant chain because he thinks that’s the future. It has less to do with Hollywood’s ability to see the future and more to do with the thinking of the person who made the investment. He’s smart and just being modest. Also, keep in mind he was able to invest in a private company that is still not public. You and I might have invested in OpenAI too, but we were never given the option.
