The difference between the hero and a villain is that the villain goes to extreme lengths to achieve their goal while a hero sticks to their morals. A "real villain" solely because they are evil doesn't work because everyone has a motivation. People will likely complain that it's an unrealistic concept. If someone wakes up the next day and decides to be evil it would completely negate their moral compass and quickly be dismissed as an annoying character. Even only meddling in the hero's life for the fun of it is already a motivation. Every time the villain pops up just bc theyre evil is gonna be a nuisance to the story rather than a smart addition

I can recommend House of Hollow. It's not explicitly about fairies like Folk of Air, but it's really good. It has a dark, fairytale atmosphere. I've definitely never readed anything quite like it before! 😃🥰
