Yeah. And my skin sheds like a snake when I use retinoids. Yes, I started with a pea sized amount once a week and tried to build tolerance. Yes, I wore spf everyday. Yes, I tried the sandwich application method. Still had flakey white patches of dryness.

My skin can't tolerate retinol. I've tried 2 times both over 7 months and it ruined my skin barrier bc I'm acne prone. I did the sandwich method and everything.

lol I actually avoid squinting so bad. My mom would tell me my face would get stuck. So if it’s sunny, sorry everyone, I’m not making eye contact, and I’m probably looking at the ground the whole time

I’m afraid of using a retinoid bc doesn’t it dry out your skin first before it works and make you more prone to sun damage

I just use vaseline, something my granny had me doing when I was in my teens. In the morning. In the evening. All the time. Now, if I’m putting on my face, I can’t use it so I’ll use L’Oréal Age Perfect with like 25 spf. It’s the only thing that doesn’t hurt my skin…🥰

I have RBF 😂 it’s actually helped me over the years. Always wear sunglasses and spf. Been using retinol (now Tretinol) since my late 20s. I’m 40 now but starting to see the nasolabial folds. Bad! Is there anything to do to help?? I have a NuFace device but it’s only temporary.

I am 48 years old. I have never had a skin regimen outside of washing my face and maybe some toner. I just started using moisturizer on my face in the latest couple years. the only difference I noticed is how much softer or smoother my face feels. but that's it.

I can’t use a retinoid. Maybe it’s bc I have Ichthyosis vulgaris and actives get trapped and are more irritating? The closest thing I could use was A313 two times a week. Seems like I can tolerate low % urea and Azalaeic Acid, but really wish I could use a retinal.

I need suggestions for retinol alternatives… -infertility mama that’s avoided retinol for all of her 30s because of fertility issues. Now I’m actively going through IVF at 40 and I don’t wanna look like an old mama when it works.
