It feels like you’re lucky to get more than 3 years out of a car battery these days. Most seem to fail 2–3 years, just after the warranty expires. My question is if I charge a battery and the voltage won’t go above 12V, and I can identify which cell is bad — would replacing that single cell fix the issue? If so, where can you buy individual cells, and do they have to match specific specs for the battery brand/model?
