@laraphonisk: It's never "just" stress. And when a clinicial fails to explain what that means, and what a patient can actively do about it, the statement of "it's stress" becomes utterly dismissive. Link to the book in my bio. #stress #tinnitus #themoreyouknow #fyp
Drs are wild - today mine said there’s no medical or anatomical explanation why my back hurts during my period 😳 also said there’s no way the pill caused my tinnitus even tho the tinnitus only occurs when I’ve taken it 🫠

I have a muffled sensation (Eustachian tube maybe) in only my right ear and a very faint hissing sound that started randomly when I was a teenager. That was over ten years ago and it hasn’t changed but it’s also not gotten worse. When it occurred I was dealing with a ton of anxiety and I also developed very mild visual snow/ eye floaters at the same time. I’ve always been an anxious person and I wonder if these are reactions to my overstimulated nervous system

i agree! i had a brother in law (ent surgeon) thoroughly explain to me the cycle of tinnitus, migraines, and anxiety/stress feeding itself into a viscous cycle. i feel understood and heard. i am getting second opinions and scans/exams done to eliminate some causes and made a plan if all tests come out negative, which points to stress induced tinnitus. i feel hopeful again!

It’s infuriating, there is no adequate stress medication on the market! Benzos and SSRI, way too caustic! My grandfather was a doctor/psychiatrist… But I’ve uncovered adaptogenic herbs. Personally I find they help keep the onslaught of stress related/sleep illnesses a little more at bay.

my doctor told me for year it's stress, i find out from another doctor i have chronic hyperventilation (due stress too) and it is treatable, got kinesist appointments from her
i really don't get why my first doctor didn't recommend me anything or at least specify my issues

It’s never stress anyways. They were always wrong, when they said that, so that explanation would’ve made it worse.

my concussion specialist is sending me for a neuropsych evaluation to sort out what's concussion and what's depression/PTSD 🙄 I'm a therapist. but sure, my eyes feeling like they're going to pop out while feeling like something is stabbing them in absolutely aligns with how my depression acts up.

Yes my endocrinologist said ‘it’s just stress’ despite my body completely shut down (as an athlete prior) and was discharged. I also have tinnitus

Just the video I needed because I have tinnitus and I have become extremely sensitive to the sound of fridges which has made my life very unbearable lately.
I know it's high stress related and I need help.

I went to the doc with the symptoms of a major concussion, only for him to tell me I was just stressed. infuriating, and so unacceptable

This is why I left classical psychology - the way the system works from the inside is demoralizing and unethical - way happier and more effective as a wellness coach than I would have been with my hands tied inside the system 💯 Thank you for doing this work!

Hello Lara, thank you so much for this video. In may i will be seeing an endocrine specialist, its been a while since ive seen her and when i did once a year i was sent for an mri once a year and a blood test due to my pituitary gland being enlarged. I was advised this wont cause vile headaches but wont help either. I never said anything about tinnitus as did not know endocrine plays a part. She also never suggested anything to support my individual endocrine rhythms. I will be sure to ask her at this appointment. Thanks again so much for this information 🤝

So interesting! Thank you. You explained stress so well. The way I recognized my mental stress load was when I was busy at work trying to figure out software problems and solutions by multitasking, my brain was on overdrive. The physical stress I always thought was surviving 2 open heart surgeries! I’m sure my body took some major hits even though I’m doing quite well today. As my stress load is decreasing due to my age, (75 in September) I find that I’m sleeping better, having more time to de-stress with music, exercise and meditation, tinnitus has also decreased in volume. I’ve accepted it, pushed it to the background and learned to live with it. Heck, things could be worse! Stress is more complex than we know. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and expertise! It’s so very helpful 😊✨
