@ghostfacemiller: ARC Review - We Burned So Bright by TJ Klune ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I loved this story. It felt like the perfect combination of Stephen King’s ‘The Life of Chuck’ and Season 1, episode 3 of The Last of Us. Despite it being difficult to look for a happy ending when the world is on the cusp of destruction, the relationships, characters, and experiences shared by Don and Rodney in their final trip are still life affirming. As a 44 year old straight, white, male (light the torches and grab the pitch forks!), it also gave me a better understanding of gay and lesbian attitudes and history. For one, the discussion over the term “queer” was enlightening as it is not one I would use due to its negative connotations when I was growing up, despite its being reclaimed. As a parent, there were aspects of the book I could relate to directly, but I think this story would speak to everyone. This is a beautiful book, with beautiful characters, that has been beautifully written. #bookreview #bookreviews #BookTok #books #arcreview
