@brandbosshq: So, Apple just got a new CEO, John Ternus, who will be replacing Tim Cool. But is this really good for Apple? Because their achilles heel since Steve’s job‘s death is that they haven’t been nearly as innovative as they were when he was alive when you consider that Tim Cook was a an operations guy and John comes from product development. You got a wonder whether this is just more of the same from Apple.
might be a little dismissive to label tim’s tenure as just an efficiency squeeze. $350b to $4t in 16 years, while developing a wearables business is no joke. i think it’s innovative he’s stepping down at peak valuation and stock barely takes a hit.

It comes down to the individual. SJ was technically astute enough to understand how to mold current tech, was prescient to the consumer market, and had a high level of personal refinement that showed up in the products apple brought to market. When took over at Apple after Scully, he was seasoned enough to understand that that he needed the right people to execute his vision. Granted, not every product was a winner. But his failures often set the stage for massive successes. He began with the customer and worked backwards, rather than the other way around. If the new CEO has these or some of these characteristics in his DNA, Apple will do well. IMO, even though the SJ & Jony Ives days are long gone, SJ’s legacy continues. Three elements that keep Apple relevant are design: hardware, software and packaging (the cases and frames as well as the boxes it all comes in), device integration and simplicity (although simplicity is beginning to suffer somewhat), and better privacy and security than anyone else. Back to the core question, will the new guy steer Apple to better things….??? Doubtful 🤷🏻♂️

So Apple goes from an Operations guy and now it’s a hardware guy. So no change and Apple continues to lose its innovation and because more and more like Microsoft.

Well at least Tim built a Trillion dollar account for them to play and experiment with for a few years. There’s got to be a couple banger products in the vault built just waiting.

innovation would be great. But let's take a look at the other guy for one second. Meta has been trying to be innovative for decades.
they've come out with a dozen,I think. good ideas. but they can't sell them. people didn't really want them.
What are you going to do when they come out with a bad set of ideas and another bad set of ideas and it affects the value of the company.

John Ternus, unfortunately for him, will reveal whatever Tim Cook was hiding. Most likely he will not last long. Not because of his problems but because of trying to turn the behemoth. A lot of companies eventually fail when the original visionaries leave because they cared about the baby and gave up all of their thoughts to it. Everyone else is hedging their exit plan and will never care enough about the baby. NeXT was even a tool for Steve and not the baby. But who am I with my bag of chips watching this from my couch 🤷
