here’s the thing, fandoms and people who watch the show/movie/read the books aren’t always the same. i personally know nobody who has read the books or consumed any asoue media irl whatsoever. there’s a bunch of ppl who consume the media but don’t engage with the fandom and that makes up at least half of people who have seen/read asoue
