see scarcity makes me more volitile lol. I am more likely to say fuck it and binge on whatever. but that is why finances are so unique to each person! Just as much about psychology as math.

You just blew my mind with something so simple 😭😭 I always take money out of my regular savings bc it’s so accessible but my high yield savings takes at least 2 business days to transfer into my checking that I rarely use that money 😅 I’m gonna start doing this!!!

I cannot keep all my sinking funds in one account, it just doesn’t work for my brain. So I have three savings accounts, and several envelopes saving up for things in cash 😂

I do this too! I deposit $250 per paycheck in a HYSA and have the rest deposited in my regular checking for bill payments, etc. I use that same checking to all pay for rent in full via Bilt and my roommate pays me back in Zelle which also goes back to my HYSA (don’t recommend doing this tho unless your roommate is reliable lmao)

I have various different buckets like for my emergency fund and my trips and vacations. Unless it’s a dire emergency or I’m traveling to meet a friend that I haven’t seen in literally an eternity. I will not pull money out of the emergency fund account. I one day I hope to grow it as big as your emergency fund. I just automatically transfer every paycheck a little bit into each of my buckets and call it a day.

All my accounts makes me look crazy but this works so well for my brain. One of my accounts is empty and I’m doing a full budget re-do 😂. I refuse to transfer my trip money over.
