well if NYCHA actually took care of their apartments and updated when needed it wouldn't look like this. do not blame the tenants.

So in 25 years how many inspections were made? How many tickets did they put in for repairs?!? This tries to place blame on the tenant try again!

Nycha is supposed to do an annual inspection of all apartments but they don’t then they blame tenants for either not giving access which is false because no one wants to live like that or they say it’s because the tenants have worn & torn the apartment after decades of occupancy which also should not matter because repairs are supposed to be done asap when a ticket is put in.

No excuse for the ceiling to be in that condition. NYC is NYC’s worst landlord, over 600K open repair tickets

It literally took NYCHA 10 years to fix a leak that kept making the ceiling fall. It took them over 3 months to do the lead abatement. The apartment condition is 100% on NYCHA for never getting things done.

There are hundreds of trade students across the city that can use this as hands on training as compensation for the school to help them graduate debt free. Also give incentive for graduates of high school and GED programs for trade schools keeping it flowing.

🤔 sounds like landlords fail to make sure their rentals are up to code.

They leave these apartments empty for years! So please stop acting like the person left it like that. No these apartments are left empty for 2, 3 or 6 years before they finish repairs. In my relatives building they stripped an apartment and left it like that

Peeling paint and bubbles in the walls isn’t from the tenant tho. The outage is that it wasn’t ever fixed

This is a NYCHA problem. It’s called mismanagement. The buildings are old. NYCHA are being neglected. Repairs should be done as the tenants are occupying the apartment. The walls have lead paint and the asbestos.
