I don’t take my sd everywhere either and sometimes I want to have less attention so I give her a break as she medical alert so even when I’m home she on look out so it good for both of us when safe! Like I don’t take her loud events or hair or nail salons cuz of the fumes. It our job to know what safe and what not as they are medical equipment as well as animals who deserve to be and feel safe!

I wish people would understand that not all service dog handlers need a dog 24/7 — and even if we do their safety should come first (which means not going to events altogether or leaving them home when it’s unsafe)

If my service dog can’t go, I can’t either. I can’t go anywhere without her. I personally create accommodation plans to safely include her (such as having people come and take her out when I’m in the hospital). Both are totally valid! Theres ways to safely bring a service dog in most situations, but if there’s an easier way to safely leave the home, that’s cool too! I wish more people realized an sd is valid if they do accompany their handler 24/7 AND if they don’t

I've seen some people bring service dogs to concerts and raves…I just can't fathom putting an animal through that much overstimulation. Love that you’re an ethical advocate for your service animal. ❤️
