As a Canadian - using paper plates or plastic disposable cups or single use water bottles is just not normal here. Maybe limited to one event like a picnic, etc. And yes we don’t use paper towel, paper napkins, etc

How do you clean your mats? I can’t ever seem to get them clean. They seem to always keep a layer of grease on them

Does your paper towel swap work for draining grease , patting meat dry ? I’m nervous it won’t work 😂

We have used the dryer balls for years and my ONLY problem with them is my freakin' kids never pay attention and take the balls with them when they get their clothes out of the dryer (all 3 do their own laundry) . . . it drives me NUTS! I have to go searching for dryer balls almost as often as I have to go spelunking for dishes in their rooms 🤣

May sound simple and a bit silly but buying a reusable water bottle and bring it everywhere where with me has saved me so much, and is so much better than plastic water bottles for the environment.

we still buy sliced bread but I save the bread bags to use for our dog walks, and as small trash bags for car/desk etc.

I cut up old t shirts to use as cleaning rags. I keep them in a bin in my garage in a convenient spot. I don’t use paper plates or plastic cutlery. I rarely buy paper towels. We don’t usually buy bottled water unless we’re desperate. We have a collection of water bottles that we fill and take everywhere. I use bar soap instead of liquid and we use hand soap tablets in reusable dispensers. Also, low flow shower head in our shower.

but one thing I can't figure out is back on grease. I use paper towels to soak up the grease when I take it out of the oven and set it on the plate to cool. I put paper towels on the plate. would rags be gross for that ?

Can you do a video on buying cuts of meat? I am 52 but was never taught and when I go to buy meat I have no idea what to buy!

Swaps made at our house are the oil sprayer, reusable paper towels, reusable toilet paper, reusable ziplock bags, dryer balls, reusable period underwear and pads. When I’m out of my plastic wraps I’m going to buy some reusable ones. Also swapped to eco friendly dishwasher tabs and homemade or eco friendly cleaners when possible.

I save plastic grocery bags for my tiny trashes and put the rest in my freezer produce stand. I found people take more if I leave bags for them.

We have animals and I’ve started using my feed bags as trash bags. They hold up so much better than a regular trash bag because well they’re designed to hold 40-50lbs.
