@mari_thomas_welland: A tip that requires no training or nutrition… 👀 If you’re running the London Marathon this weekend and you haven’t thought about your sports bra yet… this is your sign. Because the wrong bra isn’t just uncomfortable, it is literally slowing you down and draining your energy. 😤 But here’s WHY this actually matters…👇 🔬 Your breast tissue has zero muscle support. It’s held up purely by skin and tiny ligaments called Cooper’s ligaments. Every stride you take there’s movement happening — up, down, sideways. In the wrong bra that can be up to 4 inches of bounce per step. Over 26.2 miles your body is constantly working to fight that without you even realising it. ⚡ That bounce is messing with your running form. Your body naturally tries to compensate with shorter strides, tense shoulders, arms crossing. A properly supportive bra removes all of that so you can just… run. Freely and efficiently. 😮‍💨 It affects your breathing too. A well fitted bra lets your ribcage fully expand. Too tight and your breathing is restricted, less oxygen gets to your muscles and you fatigue way faster than you should be. 📏 And size is everything. Around 80% of people are in the wrong size without knowing it. Too tight = restricted breathing and chafing. Too loose = no support at all. The band should be firm and level, cups fully enclosing with no gaps or spillage. 🏅 Get it right and on race day you’ve got less bounce, less fatigue, better form, better breathing, and zero chafing at mile 18. Across a full marathon distance, all of that adds up massively.
