As a trained ECE, that ratio just made my blood pressure rise. That’s the kind of ratio I’ve only ever seen in after school programs. Infants was 1:3, 2 yr olds was 1:5, 3-4 yr olds was 1:8 and if you mixed ages it was 1:7. I haven’t worked in that field in 15 years but that was the ratios then

1:12 ratio is for 2 1/2-4 year olds . 1:4 infant , 1:6 is 18mt -2

I work in daycare and this is insane. I’d never work at an overnight one. But I know the owners would pull this crap. I don’t think 24 hour daycares should be aloud because it can get dangerous. At least during the day the workers are all supervised by the director

this ratio is insane in my country it's 1:24 or 1:30 and usually 10-12 hours a day

Where Im at, ratios are >1yr is 1:3, 1-1.5 is 1:4, 1.5-3 is 1:6 (this is the most outrageous ratio imo), 3-4.5 is 1:8, 4.5-kindergarten is 1:10, and OSC is 1:15. Mixed ratio is whichever age group has more children. So if youve got a 6 month old, two toddlers, and 4 three year olds; the ratio would be 1:8. Of course, most educators and businesses wont leave a 6 month old in a room with 1 staff and 6 older kids. Also, you always had to have 2 staff on the premises at any given time. So there should have been at minimum 2 staff there ANYWAYS.

With infants the ratio never changes until they hit 18 months old. So it will always be 1:4. (I’ve worked in daycare for almost a decade so this is pretty accurate) once they are ALL asleep ratio doubles. But once they start waking up ratio goes back to normal
