Get yours gardens going. If you don’t have space outside or live in an apartment please look into container gardening, you can start potatoes in a laundry basket!!! Stock up on rice and beans. Tomato paste, sugar, water, Worcestershire will make a ketchup. Cook down tomatoes to make your own sauce. Flour and egg make pasta. Find local farms for milk. Bread can be made with yeast, sugar, flour and water. Start a pantry or stock your pantry heavily if you’ve already got one. You can make bbq sauce out of that homemade ketchup. You can also reduce your tomato sauce into a paste for more ketchup. Beef, veg and gravy on toast is better than starving. If you do any sort of canning and have empty ones on your shelf — fill them with drinking water and use whatever canner is needed for making that shelf stable. You can figure out how to make sterile water with a washcloth in it too for emergencies. Honey will soothe a sore throat. Be prepared. Generators are expensive but may be worth a look into.
