It’s called the Knoxville Airport because it’s owned by the Metropolitan Knoxville Airport Authority an arm of the City of Knoxville, when you are on airport property, you are essentially in an Exclave of Knoxville that is surrounded by the cites of Alcoa and Louisville. You pay Knoxville and Knox Co. taxes when you buy stuff in it and pay Alcoa and Blount Co. taxes outside it.

Just flew through here over the weekend — the volume of the water feature is ridiculous 😅

knoxville airport is great, not too big, can easily find the gates since its basically one big hall, does the job pretty well
