It’s because manga fans are in competition with each other for some reason. Acknowledging that their favorite author takes inspiration from authors they hate angers them, when in reality most of these mangaka are very good friends

I remember a really popular post saying, “should we discredit writers who edit their story?” citing how they write their papers in high school the night before and get an A. “If you have to edit, are you really a writer?” People paid money to reward this take

The problem is that Sasuke wasn't inspired by Kurapika, he was inspired by Hiei. Kishi told us where her got the sharingan and Sasuke's backstory in his 2015 interview with Kobayashi. Kishi also did the red eyes that activate based on emotions thing two years before HxH in his oneshot Karakuri. I live Togashi and I live YuYu and HxH but I think accuracy matters

They’re missing out insisting in the uniqueness of series when there’s so much fun to be had looking at the evolution of the Battle Shonen genre. Like how the main casts of Jujutsu Kaisen and Chainsawman are clearly inspired by the dynamics of Naruto's Team 7.
