I saw that paper and was already on the path of switching as the persona suggestion seemed so arbitrary at best "an expert xx with 15... no, even better.. 100 years experience..." Even as a rookie, I noticed better output when I forgot to add the persona. This guide was the cleanest summary, with actionable changes I've seen on Tok in awhile, thx!

I tend to explain my situation and ask it for help depending what I need. Rewriting a document becomes: *image or word or text* "Could you rewrite this document containing bullet points into a flowing text instead and correct my grammar along the way". For coding, I'd be more direct, I don't need personality, I need the stuff to help me and that creates its "own" personality for it'll based on what you explained facts/stuff i need > persona. if I want personality, then it's just for pure entertainment mode on my side.

this is accurate. especially the few shot examples. give examples on what to do and what is the expected output. although some models can be biased and lazy and use your examples as the output itself

I read it helps to also tell it what not to do. I find I rarely use personas - depends what you are trying to accomplish as you noted.

I mean, its all gradient descent. my instructions are almost fully rules based, but I do have a block of tone setting. not "you are" but "you said". and then "I" statements. found it makes correction via instruction reference easier without nuking performance.
