City of gods and monsters (house of devils) is a trust the process kind of series it’s one of my favorites however I understand when you say it drags out in book one but in the end I think it’s worth it. I do recommend the audio with it, may give you a better experience

Followed bc you’re the first person I’ve seen to not also be blown away by Wild Reverence. It was good but definitely not a 5 star read like booktok makes it seem. Try When the Moon Hatched it exceeded my expectations.

So I feel like the ending hits more if you read The Ascended first lol but I seem to be like that with a lot of series. I like the Gods & Monsters series but by the 4th book it is SO repetitive and I just really don’t see how it’s going to be a 7 book series. The Poison Daughter was absolutely AMAZING
