some hospitals will let you pre register your delivery so you don’t need to worry about insurance during the craziness that way insurance and patient info is taken care of

Zipper or Velcro swaddles because you’re swaddling them so often between sleeping and skin to skin and diaper changes, it makes it so much easier to use those instead of swaddling with the blanket and then they bust out of it lol

if you have a birth plan on paper (my hospital had a template to fill out), bring several copies! i handed a couple out to night/day nurses and had one handy for my delivering midwife too! i came home with extras but i had plenty for whoever asked for one

Robe, slippers, and your own pillow! Button up nightgowns were also a must for right after the baby is born! If you’re going into labor, definitely bring a speaker for the hospital room to play your favorite music! So random but it helped me relax a bit, and it also made the experience less scary!

Wishing you all the best and I’m sure everything will go smoothly. Just want to mention my experience so you can be fully prepared for changes, with my first I had very specific things that I would not allow to happen, a week overdue in August, induced, in labor for almost 48 hours the doctor had to do what he had to do and it was something I had said no to. Second birth was fine but my doctor was on vacation so it was a random doctor. In no way to want to stress you, just want you to be able to mentally prepare for so many scenarios.
