@sewingwithfirewelding: Perfect oxy-acetylene cut every time 🔥 Most people rush the cut… this is how you actually get it CLEAN 👌 Watch the flame, control the speed, and let the torch do the work. #w#weldingo#oxyacetylenew#weldtoktrades #weldernation
I was taught a before o because a is the fuel and you eliminate the risk of flame going back up the hose. Was my teacher wrong? The flash back arrestor can pop all it wants I assume that means its working.

Been a welder for 30 years . It does not matter which you shut off first. Nobody ever blows up . Too much safety worries in life

so...5 and 7 is useless if you use another brand or you want to cut anything thicker then 5/8ths and I'm sorry nobody explained to you that acetylene is a volatile gas AND an oxidizer, oxygen is only an oxidizer and doesn't have fuel to keep burning on it own

3/8” should be cut with “oo” tip, your piece won’t be glowing when done. 👍

"A before O, or else it will blow" is the Emergency Sequence for the cylinder valves in the event flashback arrest devices fail and the regulators are on fire. Torch shut down procedure is as described in the video per most torch manufacturers

it all depends on your torch tip, what kind of torch you are using to adjust the regulators.. lots of variables and also... turning off the gas is way better so you make sure the flame is off.
