I love people that are into reenactments. They are totally unapologetic and awesome . Good for them . I love too that most of the time their outfits are handmade just like from the exact period , no sewing machines used . They want it authentic . They take every part seriously and it's impressive.

My grandpa used to march with them & my grandma would prepare a ton of little treats for the guys to take a break. Me & my mom would wake up at 3 am & put on little colonial dresses & wait for them at my grandparents house. This was such a core memory of my childhood.

used to get up and bike to this. they used to have a pancake breakfast afterwards. one of my teachers acted in it every year. it's actually pretty awesome
