@yellowtuxjesse: My love for MJ runs deep! It started when I was eight years old and I watched the live premier of “Black or White” on Fox and was blown away. I then convinced my Dad to let me buy his album “Dangerous” as my first cassette. I “Remember the Time” when I would rent Michael Jackson videos from Blockbuster. I watched the Super Bowl just to see his performance. I would play basketball listening to “Jam” over and over again and would play his music for hours. So when I was GM of the Gastonia Grizzlies and got asked to dance to help raise money for the boys and girls club, my first thought was I’d love to help but I can’t dance…but then I channeled my inner love for MJ as a performer and said why not! For weeks I watched videos and practiced the moves and worked on the moonwalk in my socks. And then it was showtime! I was beyond nervous but I went for it and had the time of my life doing it! Grateful for the judges and the crowd for high scores and the love. Looking back, I’m glad I did it and proud of the performance. Definitely not even close to what the greatest dancer and performer of our time could do…but not bad for a retired baseball player. Now, I love that we can honor him with our teams with unique MJ performances at stadiums around the country. You better believe with the movie coming out this week, we will paying tribute again this weekend!
