I’m a director in tech and the last two jobs I have had were because of cold messaging the hiring managers directly. As a hiring manager, there is an art to this cold email though - yes initiative is good, but this message also is a mini intro to how you communicate and how you seed a potential ‘partnership’. Which is importabt in some roles and thr higher you go.
