Iceland has very high salaries and a very good standard of living. That, and the fact that we need to import a lot of food (transport is expensive) results in high prices.

Iceland was expensive but I packed snacks and quick meals. I also chose hotels that included breakfast and would fill up 😂 I budgeted for eating out once a day only. Honestly, I just came back on the 15th of this month and I was very proud 🤣

The bread you chose was the expensive bakery bread, there are cheaper options that are more common to buy. Also, the bacon price was per kilo and I zoomed in on that package of bacon and it looked like it was 0.382 kg. It’s not completely outrageous for an island 😅🥲 … only slightly outrageous 😂

The bacon is sold in kg. so 1kg would cost 30 canadian. not a single 300gr pack. so its roughly 8 canadian.

Iceland is definitely a plan your meals kind of place..loaf of bread, meats, cheese, yogurt and make sure your hotel offers breakfast. Especially if you decide to rent a car, cause food money becomes gas money pretty quickly lol
