What we call "now" is physical not existing, it's a subjective experience and lasts between 2 and 3 seconds. That fits nicely to what you say, that we process past information and predict future information. - And well, for me it's clear that we can only experience a model of reality because our sensory system cannot detect everything, simple example, we cannot see infrared light.
