@fyi.japan: THREE JAPAN GROUND SELF-DEFENSE FORCE(JGSDF) KILLED IN TANK SHELL EXPLOSION DURING TRAINING‼️‼️‼️ April 22 (Wednesday) This morning, a shell exploded during tank training at a Japan Ground Self-Defense Force (JGSDF) training ground in Oita Prefecture, killing three male soldiers and injuring one female soldier. Reporter: "This is the Hishidai training ground. A tank can be seen. Soldiers are active around a medical vehicle." At approximately 8:40 a.m. today, a shell exploded during training at the JGSDF Hishidai training ground, which spans Yufu City and Kusu Town in Oita Prefecture. Three male soldiers, including Sergeant Kentaro Hamabe (45), died in the accident. According to the fire department, a 21-year-old woman sustained serious injuries and is receiving treatment, but is conscious. According to the Japan Self-Defense Forces (JSDF), the Western Army Tank Unit at Kusu Garrison was conducting firing training at the time, and all four men were aboard Type 10 tanks when the shell exploded.
