so the unboxing experience is that people have to immediately throw away a rather big piece of plastic ? if you instead move to cardboard bubble wrap, most people would appreciate that eco packaging more. my 2 cents

I hope you aren’t adding that cost and time onto the customer…also…hope it’s SUPER thin walled so they can crumple it up. That much plastic waste is…a choice

I do the same using TPU. Adds about $1 to cogs. Positive feedback increased.

I’d look for a more eco-friendly option. I love the perfect fit idea, but a piece of plastic I have to throw away doesn’t seem right.

I really can’t find any justifiable reason for this. And for a small business, this is really a bad idea

Fundamentally I agree that
Bubble wrap is a weak experience but may I suggest vacuum forming over a 3D printed mold? Or even as others have suggested a laser cut cardboard insert, or even a stamped cut insert. I understand you likely don’t come from a manufacturing background so 3D printing an insert is the easiest for you but there are faster and more economical options that I’d humbly suggest to look into. 👍

Wow I feel this is such a waste of time and energy. You are not Apple. People don't expect a wow factor for your products. So many easy cheap ways to package that look cool..
