My doctor wanted me to have this and I put it off for a long time because I was scared to do it. But finally had it done and there was nothing to it, and thank God they didn’t find anything wrong. Thought my throat would hurt after it but it didn’t.

my GI doc calls it chocolate and vanilla procedure..usually did it when I was scheduled for the colonoscomy..

I’ve had 5 of them with no anaesthetic. Let me tell you the camera is not a thin tube it’s big and very uncomfortable. First one I had I actually thought I was about to die because I couldn’t catch my breath. This procedure is terrifying. Trust me I’ve had 5

Had mine with just a throat spray to numb the back of my throat. It was fine. No pain or discomfort at all and I could drive home straight after. Definitely wouldn’t worry about having it again.

I have had three and on the third one I asked for more local anathestic because the other two was awful , third one didn’t feel a thing

I have had it 4x without sedatives just a throat soother …. Not fun but needs to be done if you have gerd
