There were two babies in the hall that graduated while my husband & I held our baby boy one last time. It’s not easy & I try not to be jealous but I am happy for the little ones who can go home to their family.

I had emergency C-section and the mama right before me had an angel baby, all I could think about was keeping my baby boy from crying because that mama would hear him and hurt ❤️when one parent cries we all do

Only those of us that have experienced the NICU can grasp the true weight of it. I’ll never get the poor Mama’s screams out of my head when this happened in the room next to us 😭

I watched a mom cry everyday in the lunchroom. her baby may never go home/ if does with lots of medical care needed and mine just needed to drink his bottle at that point. the nicu was the most traumatic expereince of my life.

I unfortunately lived through both. I had twin boys last April at 28 weeks. 10 days later I lost one of my boys. Monday is the one year of losing him. Anyone who had to experience the NICU, even if it was just for a couple days, knows how hard it is. But losing a baby in the middle of that is something I wouldn’t wish on anyone. It changed me forever. I carry him with me every single day, and I always will.

We were put in a room across the floor from the nicu, but our window still showed theirs. We just lost our baby at 24 weeks but we kept hoping for the little baby we were seeing to pull through

i sat in my room they moved me too after giving birth. After birthing my baby girl who passed away at 37 weeks I listened to the newborn across the hall crying reminding me my baby girl was laid in a cuddle cot across the hall.

The doctor told me my daughter (now 6 and healthy as can be) was the “star” of the NICU & we would be leaving soon. An hour later I was giving my pumped milk to the nurses when I walked out & witnessed parents and grandparents being told their baby fucking died. The baby next to mine. I turned right around, milk and all in my hands, and ran into my mom’s arms and cried along with those parents. 😭 It never leaves you… even if it wasn’t your pain to have.

My baby was the only baby in my hospitals NICU. (Smaller vanderbilt hospital) i kept seeing babys come and go to get circumcised/ do their newborn screenings etc. stuff u do before discharge and i wished my baby was next. We left today 🥰🥰🥰🥰

I was 18 when I had my oldest daughter, perfectly healthy. They put me in a shared room with a woman that just lost her baby. I could not believe they would do that to someone who just went through that. I felt so guilty every time I had to feed my daughter or when she would cry. They eventually moved her but the fact they even did that was so wrong. I couldn’t believe it.

Same. The baby next door passed and we watched as two paramedics escorted the nurse out with the baby. Mom, dad and the grandparents were in a circle just holding each other. I will never forget the look on mom’s face.

same. its been 10yrs. that in the room across from my 30w sons nicu room same thing happened to her as me (placenta ruptured) she made it 34w the day we were discharged. their baby passed.

our nicu neighbor was a set of twins, one of them didn’t make it while we were there. as a twin momma who left with both twins, my heart hurts for that family every day.

When we got to take our son home, the family of a baby who had passed that day was out in the lobby. I think about that mom all the time🤍 I wish they had separate exits for babies going home. I felt awful celebrating as they were breaking.

I felt so guilty leaving our roomie there. His mom was in the room and got to watch us pack up, sign the discharge papers, and walk out with him.

Yes girl my baby is in the NICU and the baby beside her had a rough day when I was there, I came back the next day to the entire incubator gone 🥺 I don’t know what happened but seeing that empty space had a pit in my stomach and I hope that mama is okay. She was there every night
