Both times for me they only did one row just so that I wouldn’t be dying in pain with BOTH rows hurting. The second time around I wanted to tell them to just do both bc I’ve been through this before 😭

well, i had braces on both in high school and my bottom teeth shifted enough where it was noticeable and so i got braces again but for my bottom teeth. 🤷🏾♀️

The dentist sometimes doesn’t want you to be in complete pain on both rows so they have you adjust by having one row

sometimes one row needs to be adjusted first, cuz if they both get braces at once it can cause over correcting on one side and create a whole new problem

So I know when I first got mine years ago they were saying they were only gonna do the top to see how my mouth adjusted to them or something and I was like no I need both top and bottom or I’m not getting them😭😭😭😭

I had an overbite they said if I got both at the same time I’d bite the bottoms off 😭 so I got the bottoms three months later

When I first got braces I only got my top ones because I had to get all 4 wisdom teeth & 2 pre molars from the bottom pulled, so I had tops for like a month or so then got my surgery, recovered & then about a month or so later I got bottoms. He said he could’ve waited to put them on but he also wanted to adjust my bite while I was waiting so

My tooth broke while pregnant and I jus told them to take them off of the bottom lol plus the gum swelling was too much 😂

A lot of times they can’t afford to get top & bottom.. & sometimes orthodontist might feel like they don’t need it on both.
